Good-Bye

Today was a sad day. Grandma and Grandpa left for Michigan this morning. The girls were oblivious of the fact that they were leaving for good, but I wasn't, and it was heartbreaking. I will miss them both and I will especially miss my Mom being here with us. It has become a way of life here and it is going to be a big adjustment not having her here or at least within a three hour driving distance! (ie Portland) Most of you know already that I wish she was staying in Portland, but I respect her decision to return to her own life on Muskegon, MI. We will be seeing her this summer for our family reunion and also for the girls birthday in August. It just seems like so far away right now. The girls will be so much bigger and talking more. Crazy to think she will miss all that she has been around to witness thus far. We can't wait to see her again...and it can't come soon enough! We love you Grandma...thank you for all that you have done and sacrificed for us. Miss you already!

On a lighter note, Sydney and Kendall have both become pretty good impersonators of their Grandpa since he has been here the last two weeks. Most of you probably don't know that my Dad frequently sighs when he is worried (which is pretty frequently), or stressed, or relaxing (ironic...I know). He also crosses his arms frequently too, often times the same time that he is sighing. So, both girls picked up on this and started to imitate Grandpa by folding their arms across their belly's and sighing. NO JOKE! They both did this uncoaxed, and we were all amused by it. When Grandma and Grandpa were getting ready to leave today, we took some pictures and Sydney decided to give us one last impersonation of her Grandpa before he left. I wish I had gotten this on video, but the picture above says it all. We all lost it and she seemed to enjoy getting all the attention as well. We will miss Grandpa and all his sighing! Come and visit soon...we love and miss you too!

Reading Tent

The girls have a reading tent complete with pillows and blankets
courtesy of Gramie and Grandpa. Hilarious to see them laying on their backs reading their books. It is the perfect spot to read and relax!

Big Girl Room

The girls have a brand new room. Grandpa got the girls all new bedding and Grandma made new curtains and duvet covers to match. It is too cute. It is definitely a girly room now and they love it. We moved the bookcase into their room too so that they could have all their books close by. It works out great. Thanks Grandpa and Grandma for all your help and hard work getting the girls their new "BIG" girl room!

Kendall Rose = Scary...that is all I have to say about this picture!

Gramie had gotten the girls some tap shoes a long time ago for when they are bigger, but they found them yesterday and of course wanted to put them on. They put on a wonderful show for us.

Sydney Lee loved these shoes...I can tell she is going to be a future dancer. She even has the blisters on her feet to prove her dedication. Oh the pains of being a good dancer! LOL

Happy Easter

This morning after breakfast we colored some eggs with the girls. They were a little confused about the whole process, and were more excited about the stickers they got with the coloring kit...but it went well and we only had two egg casualties. Not too bad! Later, we are going to put them in their baskets for them to open. So nice that this year they are blissfully unaware that the "Easter bunny" should have come last night and not during the day today...next year will be different I am sure! Can you tell who is who?

Dress up

While unpacking, we found some cute summer clothes that will fit the girls this summer. So, we had to play dress up and try them on. Middle picture is of the girls pointing to the "baby" on the many boxes that had yet to be unpacked!

These boots are made for walkin'

In going through the vast number of boxes of baby stuff, we came across the girls cowboy boots and they had to give them a try...even though they are a little snug!

NCLEX

We are safe and sound back in Seattle and we are slowly getting unpacked and organized. We came back with about twice as much stuff as we left with...which really should be no surprise. Right before we came home, Kendall found my NCLEX study books and just thought maybe she should read one...you know...just for FUN!

Polls answers

I realized the other day that I have not answered the recent blog polls...so here are the correct answers:

Sydney gives lots and lots of kisses at bedtime...and more recently they both have taken a liking to giving their stuffed animals kisses too!

The latest word the girls have learned when the poll was out was Grandma! Lately though Sydney has learned to say Grandpa too!

Grandma and Grandpa leave tomorrow and we are all sad to see them go! We will miss them terribly
