I Love Technology

So...I love this picture for two reasons.
1. Kendall is giving Grandpa Fred a virtual kiss live on the computer
2. Kendall's plumber butt crack!
One of the gifts the girls got from Gramie and Grandpa Fred was a camera for the computer. So, around once a week we have a video call with them and the girls love it. It is amazing what technology can do these days. You actually feel as though you are right there with them. It is so nice for the girls to see them and talk to them on a weekly basis. The girls spend most of the conversation showing them their "monkey belly's" and kissing the computer screen over and over again. They also like to show off the new words they have learned that week, like the more recent "Eh-moh" (aka Elmo) Also, Brandon has a camera now so we are able to talk with Dad live too throughout the week while we are separated. It is nice to be able to keep in touch this way. Thanks Gramie and Grandpa Fred. And if anyone else wants to have a video call, just let us know...the girls will love it!
Ps...the title of this blog posting was especially for a particular someone from Brunswick, Ohio !!

Sydney my little Lover!

Poll #2: And the answer is...

SYDNEY LEE

Sydney has, over the last few weeks or so, turned into my little snuggle bunny. She loved giving kisses and hugs especially when you are leaving or when it is time to say goodnight. She kisses and kisses, until you have to tell her more firmly, "it is night night time." Then she quietly falls asleep. She is too cute. Then there is Kendall, who lately when you ask her for a hug or a kiss, shakes her head "no" Miss Independent! She does it partly because then she knows I am going to go after her to get my kiss and hug, which she loves of course, giggling and squeeling the whole time. What characters...give them some time though and I am sure they will do a complete switch...yet again!

Stairs

The girls have finally mastered the stairs. Here they are coming down the stairs all by themselves...although in the first video they get a little distracted by Joseph...in the second video, they make it to the bottom!

Top five reasons why I'm so cute

1. I look great in pink

2. You can't resist my pouty face

3. My sweet little voice

4. I can get away with pigtails

5. DUH...because I am cute

Pee Pee in the Potty

Here is Sydney Lee sitting on her new potty. We have yet to start the official training, but they are well on their way. Sydney has repeatedly pointed to her bum and said her word for "stinky" indicating..."hey, get this gross diaper thing off of me!" So, we are well on our way!

Dora Truck

Sydney Lee

Kendall Rose

The girls got a "Dora Truck" from Grandpa Kendall for Christmas. They are just now adjusting to it and have for the first time today, actually taken it for a spin. Before today, all they have done was sit on it. Every time I said "push the button" they would immediately get off of it. Today they got braver with the two of them on it together and Kendall actually "pushed the button." They were off...slowly, but they were off! They loved it. There is a video below of their first ride together. Maybe they are future Harley riders...we will see!

Big Girl Beds!

The girls got "big girl" beds from Papa and Nana Lou. Gramie and Grandpa Fred got the mattresses. Thanks to all the grandparents for helping the girls make their transition to toddlerhood. Sorry for the sterility of the pictures. (kinda remind me of a mental ward LOL) The pictures don't do them justice...the beds are really cute, but against the stark white walls, it looks funny! Once we get them home with some color, they will fit right in. The girls were so excited to get the beds and as you can see they enjoy reading their books on them. We are still working on the whole sleeping in them thing. The girls are getting used to them and this is only the second night they have slept in them...so, we will see how it goes.
UPDATE: The girls slept throught the night last night...
not a peep from either of them!

Don't ask me who's who...I don't remember and I can't tell!

More hats...

Sydney Lee

Kendall Rose (Go Blue!)
Winter attire seemed to be a good gift this year!
Here are the girls showing off their new hats from cousin Kemery...
Thank you to all the rest of the family back east that gave gifts for Grandma to
bring back. They were great and the girls love them all!

Red Hat Baby

Grandma brought back with her a ton of new presents for the girls.
Here is Kendall wearing her new red chef hat courtesy of Aunt Rita, Uncle Jeff, and Allie

Goodnight Moon

"I love this book so much...maybe I should give each thing a kiss."

"I love you bowl of mush"

"I love you lady whispering 'hush'"

"Ummm...am I done yet?"

"Oh yeah...one more...good night moon!"

Chocolate Cheesecake

I brought home dessert tonight and the girls had a field day with it, as you will see...

Here is what happened after we were "all done". We were not happy campers!

Going to take a bath (which they are usually happy about!)

We're in trouble

Before we left Seattle, the girls decided that they were going to walk up and down the stairs instead of sit, scoot, or crawl up the stairs, much to my dismay. I was distracted on the phone one day and heard this thud. When I walked over to see what the commotion was all about, this is what I found...

Goofy

Here is Kendall playing with her food...which she knows is a "no no."

What a Goof

And the correct answer is...

Unfortunately the vast majority of those who voted on the poll were wrong. The correct answer is......(drum roll) ......

HOT DOG

Thanks to all for participating in the poll. I had fun seeing what everyone was voting for and knowing that most of you were getting it wrong! LOL. I will try to come up with another fun fact to quiz you all on again!

Here are the girls eating their "Hot Dog"

As a side note...
Any soft meat they eat, for example meatballs, are all "hot dog" to them...and...

The other day I took the girls to Target and apparently they now remember that Target sells "hot dog" at the snack counter. So, the entire time we were walking through Target, Sydney kept repeating "hot dog" over and over again...until they split one before we left!

Elmo

Elmo's world came on TV today and the girls love him. Here is Sydney pointing to Elmo when asked, "where's Elmo?" Video below is of the girls being mesmerized by him.

Crayons

Kendall getting ready to organize
The girls got Crayons and a coloring book in their stockings from Santa. Now, you would think that means that they are learning to love to color...right? Well, the girls have decided to use their crayons for something else equally entertaining (apparently!) This involves taking the crayons out of the box (in a shake and dump move perfected particularly by Kendall) and then meticulously putting them back in the box! Then the process repeats itself over and over and over again. I have modified it, of course, and have decided to tell them each color they are putting back into the box as they do it, in the hoped that they are retaining a little of what I am saying. So, Kendall is the master of this art, and Sydney has closely followed suit. It is actually pretty amazing that a 16 month old can put all 8 crayons back into a box that is mearly the width of the crayons itself. It actually came as no surprise when Kendall first did it ( she immediately scrapped the whole "coloring" thing (for amatuers)) because she has habitually shown that she prefers to organize and put away, then actually play. For example, in the tub, she spends her time gathering all of their bath letters along the edge of the tub, then swoops them off all at once...then of course the process repeats inself. Gather one by one, and knock them all down again! Sydney on the otherhand actually sat down to color the first time I got the crayons out, but was quickly distracted by all the fun Kendall was having and decided to give the organizing a try. Sydney still, I think prefers to color, but she has been strayed by her sister. When the fun eventually wears off, then we will get back to coloring...HOPEFULLY!
And I will get video of this and post it when I do...
