Gramie made the girls the coolest matching game. Different bug characters on a blanket with matching discs. Great for toddlers! I think she is going to start working on a numbers and letters one...we can't wait.
As most of you know...Kendall is much more methodical in her play. She likes to stack, organize, put things in their place. So, for Kendall, this game was perfect. You should have seen her the first time she played. She would look at the piece she had in her hand and then you could see her scanning the blanket. Then she would again look at the piece she had and make sure the one she had narrowed it down to was the correct match. Then she would walk over closer to it, check it out one more time for good measure, and carefully place it on the correct match. Then she would gently pat it as if, "there...that is where you are supposed to go."
Sydney on the other hand liked stacking them on top of one another on the nearest circle to her, randomly placing them here and there oblivious of the fact that she was supposed to be matching them up. Eventually she caught on though...
Now, as you will see in the video below, they have become experts and tag team. One pointing to the other where it should go, and the other actually placing it on the blanket. My little smarty pants. They play it at least a couple of times a day and love it.
Thanks Gramie for the great game!
