Weekend at Uncle Kris's House

We made our way down to Uncle Kris's house in Vancouver this weekend. He was up in Seattle, so we traded houses. We had a nice visit and we got to see our new house in Portland. Janet, the woman we are subleting from was really nice and she loved the girls. She is leaving for China for the few months we will be staying at her place. I am excited to get the ball rolling and ready for school. I figure, the sooner I start back, the sooner I will be done! So, here are a few pics from our stay at Uncle Kris's. The girls love to be in just their diapers! The less clothing the better...

ps. Thanks Uncle Kris.

Solid food

We have ventured into the world of solid food. Tonight was the second night with the cereal and it didn't go as well as last night. Last night Sydney ate like a pro and Kendall did too. Tonight, it was the worst thing they have tasted! Anyways, Kendall also got sick last night which wasn't fun either, but she is fine now. Think she just had too full a belly. She slept with me most of the night and did fine once she got it out of her system. So, let the eating adventure begin! Boy is it going to be fun...

Discovering "Discovery Park"

On the way to Discovery Park First stop at the Sound

Sydney on the way home Kendall wakes up!

Today was a beautiful day in the Northwest. It was in the mid-50's and mostly sunny, so we decided to take the girls for a nice "walk" around Discovery Park. It is on Puget Sound so we figured we could be by the water and have great views of the Olympics, and we were right! Today was the first day we were able to use their carriers. As we "walked", we realized that there was more "trail" than "walk" but nevertheless we kept on. It ended up being a pretty decent hike that ended on the water. Once out in the open, Sydney got a huge gust of wind and started to cry...but up until this point, the girls were cry free! So, it was a big success. We got back to the truck just in time, as Sydney was running on empty, especially in her patience. Kendall chose to sleep most of the time, which was fine also. Now you would think with all the travel and being outside that they would be worn...but you would be mistaken. They were awake the whole way home and most of the night. Our little adventurers...we are going to have so much fun with them on our hikes to come. Can't wait.

ps. carriers worked great!

"Look at me...I'm Sydney Lee"

Happy 6 months! Can you believe it?

Moving to Portland

Hello everyone,

As most of you know, I am returning to school again this April. I am excited and scared to be going back. I received news that my schedule would be five days a week, so we have to make the move to Portland so that I can finish. Originally, we wanted to get a place in Vancouver, as I already know and am comfortable with the area. Last week however, while searching Craigslist, I came across an offer we just couldn't pass up. So, my mom, the girls, and I have found an apartment in SW Portland to sub-lease. Amazingly, the woman needed someone from April 3-June 12. Almost exactly the dates of my Spring quarter! Also, now we won't have to worry about furniture, pots and pans, beds, utilities, etc. We have it all there for us and all we have to do is move ourselves. I am so happy that we found this place...it was a real blessing. Next weekend, we are going to meet with the woman and do some paperwork. Then all should be good to go! So, for those who are curious, here is our new address:

7657 SW 74th Ave. #4, Portland, Or. 97223
ps. Middle pic is Kendall, other two are Sydney!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! One of my favorite days of the year. Kendall and Sydney like it too... Brandon was in school most of the day. He has two big tests, both on Friday, so he has been at the library studying. Meanwhile, Sydney, Kendall, Grandma, and I went to a great new Mexican/Cuban Cuisine restaraunt (Albreje) we saw on our way back from our walk yesterday. It was great! We had REAL enchiladas! What a relief to know there are places out there that serve authentic food. We had a great time, and although it was raining and parking was difficult to find, it was well worth it. The girls got dressed up in these adorable red outfits that their Great Aunt Corrine got them way back when. They finally fit and they were decked out from head to toe! How cute...like little red valentine's.

When we got home, Brandon made it back soon after with flowers...how sweet! Then, the girls called it a night and headed off to bed...or at least Sydney did. Kendall has this thing where she hates to go to bed. Go figure. She screams and crys until she is absolutely about to pass out from sheer exhaustion. So, in the meantime, we try rocking, singing, etc. Today she opened her Valentine, but that didn't work either. Finally she fell asleep, and their first V-day came to an end!
So here are some pics of the day in their cute outfits...and some video coming soon to a computer near you (probably the one you are reading this on!)

"I do know how to smile!"

Kendall found out I posted a blog about her not smiling (I am not sure how?) so here was her response in the days following.

GRANDMA IS HERE!!

Well, the day has finally arrived...Grandma is here! Thank God. And she made it here safe and sound, which is also a miracle. When she left her house on Saturday there was a blizzard. Almost didn't make it to Detroit in time to catch her flight, but somehow she managed. Unfortunately however, she had planned to stop in Ann Arbor to see Jonathon, but with the huge delay, she wasn't able to make it and see him before she left. She was very upset naturally, but once she got here and saw the girls, it all melted away. We are all doing great, and Grandma is settling into her new home in Seattle quite nicely. We are getting her room set up and once all her stuff arrives in the mail...it will be official. She now lives on the west coast!

I have a bit of other information to report also, for those that don't know yet. I am moving back to the "Couve" so that I can finish school! My mom, the girls, and I will be making the move just for the months of April and May though, and then back to Seattle for the summer. The Fall is still up-in-the-air as to where I will be for school. Hopefully I will be able to finish here in Seattle, but we will see. I am anxious to get back to school, but nervous about the move. Details have yet to be worked out, but all should go well, and without Grandma here, none of it would be possible. YEAH GRANDMA! (aka MOM) I will keep you posted.

We took the girls on an outing today, just to the mall, but it was nice to just get out of the house with the girls. They did so well, and were little superstars everywhere we went. They bring smiles to people's faces and it is so nice to see them interact with people. They are getting so big!

We will keep updating the move for you all, as soon as we have details to share. For now, we are all just glad that Grandma is finally here. Til next time...
